The Republic of Moldova does not now participate in the Schengen Zone, but it aggressively seeks membership in the EU. With a population of 4 million, Moldova grants its people visa-free travel to 121 countries, including all of the nations that make up the Schengen Area in Europe, such as Turkey and Russia.
